Happy New Year all.

Ok now back to our regularly scheduled programs.......HELP

I have today upgrade my XP Pro system to Vista Ultimate and am having a big
problem with my keyboard driver. Simply I have an EZ 7000 office keyboard
and when I install the driver, either from the disk or the latest version I
can find via a web search, I am unable to use my keyboard at all. The whole
keyboard becomes unfunctional and to log into Vista and reverse the
installation I have to use the onscreen keyboard.

When I did the compatability test prior to purchasing Vista Ulti I was not
flagged about the keyboard but am unable to resolve the issue using the Vista
driver resolution tool.

Can anyone assist?

Thanks in anticipation,
Lloyd

If you are using the P/S2 to usb adaptor try using a straight usb port
(back, no hub). This appears to be a discontinued keyboard. Consider a new
one if it does not work without the adaptor either.

Ah thanks for your reply,

I am not using the adapter but I am using a Avocent KMV switch. So guess
new keyboard will be the only way forward. Shame...

Thanks again.

One last thought. Your keyboard has a lot of special keys. Is there a
special key lock that isn't found on generic keyboards? If so, make sure it
is not enabled.

Have you tried with the keyboard connected directly to the computer? It may
simply be the KNM switch. That might also be why the keyboard did not show
up in the Upgrade Advisor report.

No I did not try to plug straight to the computer as this would create
problems for me in the future as I have two computers running from the same
keyboard and mouse. And I am planning on getting another and having three
keyboards would not be an option. Space is limited plus also I'm not an
octopus so there really would be no need to have three keyboards.

But thanks for your thoughts on the matter. I will just try another
keyboard, probably a Logitech to go with my mouse. New hardware new drivers
should solve the issue I hope. Watch this spot.....

Thanks for your help.
