I have my TV hooked up as Display 2 - how do I view video which I activate
from Display 1...??

Help Appreciated.

If I press play on a video file on my Monitor - how do I view it on my
Monitor which is Display 2?

Activate the so-called 'theater mode' in the clone mode options, in the
overlay tab. unfortunately, only accessable if the tv is indeed connected..
grrrr ;-)

This theater mode will show ONLY the video on the secondary screen. Very
nice, if that's what you're looking for :-) You can simply keep working on
the primairy screen.

Go to display properties, Settings tab, Advanced button, Displays tab, and
choose 1 for both your monitor and TV. This will make both of them primary
display, and your overlay will work on TV screen, too. Though, it'll make
your monitor's display look ugly. Anyway, you probably will not do anything
else on it while the movie is on, so it does not really matter. Just turn
the TV display off, nad make the onitor primary, once you are done watching.
This is how I do it. Hope it helps.
I do not like the theatre mode, since I can not see the controls and such
like, on the TV. Since my TV is in another room, it is not easy to deal with
it, not being able to see its controls.

Thanks for the reply, Thomas.. I can find the overlay tab.. but it tells me
to adjust it I must be in "Dual Clone" mode.. can you point me in the
direction of how to do that?

My computer keeps on assigning monitor #2 and won't let me change it to #1..
is there some way of forcing it?

I forgot to say that there is no such thing as "Extremely Dumb Question.."
:)

Well, there is, GT, but you generally stand to lose a lot less by
asking, finding out and maybe looking a bit thick, than by not asking
and thus not finding out - and usually winding up looking _really_
stupid as a result.

Hmmm, I see. What version of drivers are you running? I have Cat4.7 now, and
it is doing what you say, assigning them to 1 and 2. With the previous
drivers I had (Cat 4.5?), I could do it. Heh, another example of ATI driver
team work, breaking what works, instead of fixing what is broken. :) Let's
see whether they'll re-fix it in Cat 4.8 or not.

I kindly do not agree. For example, iIf someone asks a question about
something I know by the heart, since I know it soo well, of course it will
sound stupid to me, whereas, it is not indeed. It is all relative, in my
opinion.

You should be able to hit the "blue squares" in the display tab to do that.
I seem to recall one of them being a square and one a circle, never could
work out what they were supposed to be. I only have one display right now,
so can't test.

I'd agree with that. I'd also agree that that the OP's question was
not a dumb one, if you were to ask me that.

But that's not to say that there are no dumb questions. As an
example, what about the questions asked by low-grade trolls? They
don't want to know the answer; they just want to stir up contention -
unfortunately, with the lower grade ones, you don't even get any
amusement from it - they _are_ just dumb. YMMV
