Why are the EE processors no longer a grand? This is the brand new top-of-the-line cpu, but it is less than £700? Don't get me wrong that is absurdly expensive, but it is nowhere near what the EE Pentium D's used to cost. Even the fast P4s were that kind of price when they were new?

and intel dropped prices a few days ago

Intel is keeping the pressure on AMD - bad for AMD, fantastic for us, the consumers. And the price of technology always drops over time - in my case, the drop usually occurs the day after I pay the higher price!
