to go to the vendor... but before I send it there I would like to extract my
outlook .PST file...so I mounted the diskdrive in my server as a Z drive -
and try to browse to the PST file in documents settings etc...but acces is
denied to the folder and I've tried to seet other permissions etc... without
any luck...

How can I get the .PST file "out" ?

anyone that can assist ?

C:\Document and Settings is not appropriate for Vista. Enter this in the
Windows Explorer address bar:

%LocalAppData%\Microsoft\Outlook

Click Go. You should see the PST there, if you created it in the default
location.

For quick and dirty access, give the Everyone account full control
permission to [old drive]:\Users\old_user\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Outlook

if you give permission higher than this, you need to propagate the
permissions to subfolders.

if you are having problems doing this, you'll need to check with Vista
experts - there may be something else you need to do (I've never had
problems just giving full control access to the folder.)
