Um..I'm not sure how to ask this. If I have a jpeg or a
gif in a powerpoint slide how do I reclaim it as a jpeg or
a gif?
Let's say I have a picture in a pp presentation but I
can't find the source file. How would I get the photo out
of PP to use somewhere else?

VAL,

The best option is to select the image, Edit>Copy
Then start Microsoft Photo Editor....then Edit>Paste.

Failing that....display the slideshow in powerpoint.....then press
Alt-PrintScreen on your keyboard.
Then paste that image in your favourite pixel basher.

Which version of PowerPoint are you using? 2002/XP has this as an option
when you right click on an image.

Without MS Photo Editor, you can select the photo on the
power point slide, right click, and then select Save As
Picture. You can select JPG as an option.

Another option is to blow the slide up to 200%, and then
use a bitmap capture routine in a program like photoshop
to just grab the bits off the PPT slide. Then edit that
photo, or save it as JPG.
