Extract Text From Slides

Sorry if this is the millionth time this question has been asked, but I need
to extract the text from PowerPoint Slides in connection with my work as a
translator.

I searched the internet, but didn't find anything except one software
package for almost a thousand dollars.

Any assistance greatly appreciated.
 
File | Send to | Word will give you an outline option. This only works for
text in placeholders, though.

There are some free macros here:

Export Text to a text file, extract text from PowerPoint (Mac or PC)

If you need to export the text, translate it and then have it automatically
brought back into PowerPoint, that's a much more complex problem (which might
explain the high price of the package you found)
