Extract Lyrics from songs

I would like to extract the lyrics from songs (mostly MP3) and save them to
text files. ( I intend to send the text to my daughter who in turn can use
them them to help her son learn the songs). Any suggestions?

I have also seen references to lyrics being embedded in the files, something
about a centre track.... Any sites that will explain this method

Evillyrics works with a number of mediaplayers:

I used it with Winamp, and I found it to be excellent.

WinAmp + Leo's Lyrics plugin works fine. Finds lyrics and can save to
text files.
