extra tabs don't appear in single monitor

i normaly use multi monitor
have 2 crt's, and my tv connected
normaly using 2 crt's
if disable my second screen, and try and goto advanced, i get no extra tabs
(trying to do clone mode basicly)
very annoying

ati 9800 pro 128meg
cat 3.9, winxp
my mate has exact same setup (more or less)

oops i meant to say it works on his
can't be arsed to reinstall, so much for ati drivers being at least useable
:(
(just moved from nvidia)
