Extra <head> tag automatically inserted...why?

When I'm finished editing my site, I Save everything and close it. Then, next
time I go to open the site to edit some more, there is an extra <head> tag,
giving me two top shared borders. If I delete the second <head> tag, then
everything in the body is deleted, too.

Is there a ghost playing games on me?

p.s. I'm still waiting on the host to give me username and password and get
the site registered for me, so it hasn't been published yet. Should be some
time today though (hopefully....these people move like snails.....maybe I
need some suggestions on a new host too!).
 
Disk based or server based web?
Using FP server extensions locally?
Version of FrontPage?
All service packs and updates applied?

Version of FrontPage? 2003
All service packs and updates applied? I think so.

I know this doesn't help much, does it?

I can say that I've done four other sites on the same computer and never had
this problem before. And, I've been working on this one site for about 2
weeks, and it just started doing this.

I'm still having troubles with this. It actually looks like somehow, when I
close the web site in FrontPage, my <body> tag is being changed to a <head>
tag, giving me an extra heading and deleting anything I had written in the
body.

Does anyone have any ideas at all? I'd greatly appreciate any help b/c I
just don't know what to do, other than start over completely.
