I have a problem with a user’s Outlook. Yesterday their mailbox was recreated
and their mail imported into the new mailbox. When they went to create a new
email and select 'To' to choose their recipients, they chose their contacts
entry from the address book drop down field. There were no entries, so I went
into the contact properties to enable the 'show this folder as an email
address book' option. Now they have a second contacts entry in the address
book drop down field which has their contacts in it.
This morning they went to create a new email again and now both Contacts
entries are empty, I had to enable the 'show this folder...' option again and
now there are 3 entries.
What gives? They do not have any archive or personal folders enabled or OST
file, and there is only 1 contacts list in their contacts section of Outlook
(2003) And if I open their outlook on a different PC, there is no extra
contacts entries, so it seems to be related to their local user profile. I
recreated the Outlook folder in both the C:\Documents and
Settings\username\Application Data\Microsoft and
C:\Documents and Settings\username \Local Settings\Application
Data\Microsoft folders with no success. I am pretty sure I can fix the issue
by recreating their user profile but do not want to do that if I don’t have
to.
Any ideas?
