Hi
I'm hoping someone can please help me with this.
Using WinME.
I've got a USB external HDD which I use to back up my main HDD files.
Had this for 12 months with no problems.
Yesterday I installed Kodak EasyShare (digital camera) software.
The software allows the sending of images from the camera to the PC (as
you've probably guessed).
The problem is, since I installed this software, my USB disk cannot be
accessed.
The icon appears in the tray, but with an 'X' over it. Hovering the pointer
over it brings up the message 'No Drives Detected'.
If I unplug the USB cable, windows warns me to use 'remove device', so in
short, windows is seeing the device, seeing when I remove it, but not
allocating it a drive letter or letting me access it!
Help!
The driver I was using before the Kodak install was the standard WinME
driver.
The drivers on the HDD manufactuer's CDROM don't seem to be helping any, and
the documentation is poor.
Any help GREATLY apppreciated.
