External USB/Firewire enclosures, two drives?

Are there any USB2 or Firewire external CD enclosures around that allow two
drives? If I pulled apart a single drive enclosure, would the electronics
support two drives if I used a two drive IDE cable?

Just looking for some way to get my two CD drives onto my desktop without
having to put the whole PC on my desk.

Not sure. But recently I tried to put a CD drive in an
USB/Firewire enclosure and even that didn't work.
