Windows is not recognizing my Galaxy Metal Gear Box External HD. The message
that comes up is that the neccesary software has not been found. the HD came
with a CD, but it was snapped when I got it, that and it says that its just a
backup software disc, and it does not say that it is a hard drive
installation disc. The HD also did not come with an installation manual and
their website does not provide one. If anyone is familiar with this hard
drive, do you know what software would work with this device, or is there
software I could download for it?

Right click on My Computer and select Manage. On the following screen,
select Disk Management.

It should appear on the right hand side of the screen. Partition it, format
it and give it a drive letter. Now it will show up in Windows Explorer.

Go to http://www.galaxymetalgear.com/support.htm and download the
drivers for your specific model and install them. If that does not
resolve the issue then there is a link on that page to email their
tech support.

Good luck
