Under Win 2000 it seems to be impossible to install (neither manually not
automatically) an old ISA floppy disc controller (non PNP). I have performed
several tests even by disabling the standard floppy controller from BIOS.
The installation of such controller on the same system configuration was
easy with Win98se (the floppy works correctly). The floppy and its controller
work correctly also under DOS.
Windows 2000 instead cannot reveal the floppy controller board even when it
analyzes the Non PNP hardware (from the HW installation procedure), besides
there is no way to manually add a "floppy controller" in the hardware list.
Chipset: Intel 440BX.
Thank you in advance for any suggestion.
