Hi.. using XP Home.. I just bought an external USB drive.. I was unaware
that the simple backup software was just that- simple- meant for one
computer...

Is there any software you can recommend that could be loaded on multiple
pcs, and would recognize each pc as unique...I guess creating it's own
folder on the drive?

Of course, the easiest resort could always be drag and drop to separate
folders..

thank you!

Don't believe so.
Any third party backup software will allow you define what you want to
backup and where you want to store the backup, but then you would need
multiple licences, to install on each pc
And if you're on a LAN you might want to consider a NAS solution

A very easy way is to share the external drive and set up batch files on
each computer using XCopy to copy over the desired files. Using this
method you can add the batch file to the scheduler and have XCopy only
copy changed or new files. I use this method and it only takes a couple
of minutes a day for each computer to back up.
Using drag and drop can't be automated and takes much longer than XCopy.

Thank you!

I can find the info I need on Uplus...

I've gotten very rusty on Xcopy - so on that, I will google around for some
help....
