I have just bought an icy box USB with a maxtor 200gb drive in it. I
have a laptop 2.8ghz running xp home and a desktop 3.1ghz runnig xp
pro. Both machines are up to date on updates etc. Copying from laptop
to external is fine and fast enough for my needs (18gb in about 20mins)
but copying from desktop is very slow.. I know it is a big file 76gb
but it has been doing it for 24hrs!!
Any thoughts please?

Have you installed the USB 2.0 drivers? Without them the interface
stays slow.
