I have an external firewire drive from an old computer that was
partitioned and used for storage..no boot sectors and it was assigned
drive letters by the old computer. Can I plug that drive into a new
computer? What will happen to the drive letters...is that something
that is within the old OS and not on the drive itself...will the new
system assign the drives/partitions new drive letters depending on
the number of drive partitons on the new system? In other words if a
partition was labeled drive F on the old system and I have a drive F
on the new system, will the drive integrate seamlessly and just be
called G on the new system or is there a problem just plugging it
into a new system??
