External Domain problem

Hi,

We have approx 400 AD OUs which have internal mail domain names hosted on
Exchange 2K.
These names are in the form GP-Wnnnnn. We also have external mail domains
with their own Exchange servers which have the same naming scheme. The
problem is that one external domain had been created on our internal
Exchange server and although it is deleted the exchange server thinks it
still exists locally and will not forward the mail outbound. It is not
visiable in ADUC.
This is causing major problems as it is a very high profile contact.
ABy assistance would be greatly appreciated.

Regards,

G

Can you go into Exchange System Manager/Recipients and examine your
Recipients Policies. Make sure that you don't have any policy with your SMTP
address present (and checkbox "This Exchange Organization is responsible for
......")

Many thanks. I have deleted this and I also noticed that in the SMTP
metabase, the domain was listed under domains, so I deleted the entry and
things look good now. Mail is being passed to the relay host and onto the
external domains.

Thanks again,

Gerry
