external cpu speed = fsb ??

The bios in the msi p6n platinum says the 6550 fsb is 1333mhz;
the msi dual2core utility says that the "external speed = 333mhz".

Is there a multiplier that relates the fsb to the cpu external speed?
Or are they the "same" thing since I haven't encountered the
term of "cpu external speed" before.

Curious about the terninology & whether I need to "overclock?" to
get at least to the fsb of 1066/1333 mhz.

Intel uses quad speed clock. 4x333= 1332

The bus is quad-pumped. For instance, my E6600 is running at 400 X 4=1600 @
a 9X multiplier for 3.6GHz. Asus software does the same as MSI and lists the
FSB as 400 and the bios lists it as 1600.

Core 2 Duo CPU's run internally at four times the FSB speed. Thus 333 MHz x
4= 1333MHz.
