extensions .wps

How do I set up new extensions? My operating system is XP and I am using Microsoft Word 2003 and also Word 97.

I have an attachment that has .wps. I can open it in 97 after hitting the can not open "OK" 4 times, it then opens but when using another computer, that has 2003, it does not give me the prompts to open with...

Is there a way to set up that computer to always accept .wps extensions using 2003?

Or just type .WPS converter into google or whichever search engine you use..There are quite a few sites out there that will convert .WPS..
Although I am a bit bambooseld as Word 2003 should open .WPS extensions..
