Just trying to figure how to make the sound for the
windows start up or log on play for more than 5 seconds
.
The Windows Start Up and Log On WAV files are less than
5 seconds by default and cannot be "stretched". You can
replace them, like I have, with any WAV file in your PC
or download from the Internet. You are limited to 30
seconds. I can email you a couple of samples if you like.
If you use START --> PROGRAMS --> ACCESSORIES --> ENTERTAINMENT --> SOUND
RECORDER you can edit any .wav file on your PC.
I have the STAR TREK computer voice that says, "WORKING..." when it logs on
and "COMMAND FUNCTIONS ARE OFFLINE" when I log off. Pretty cool when people
here that.
It has to do with size rather than length. Use as an example this .wav
stopped at 13 seconds.
A .wav encoded at CD quality (44kHz, 16-bit stereo), size 5.21MB, plays for
13 seconds. Saved at radio quality (22kHz, 8-bit mono), size 668KB, plays
in full.
