extending the length of the QuickLaunch bar

I can't find the little vertical bar that I used in
previous versions of Windows to extend the length of the
QuickLaunch bar. How do I make it longer so I can see all
of its icons at once? Thanks in advance.

Right click the taskbar and click on "Lock Taskbar" to remove the check.
The little vertical bar for resizing the toolbar will appear.
 
You can't find it because the toolbar is locked. Right click on a vacant
space between the quick launch bar and he clcok and from the drop down menu
remove the tick from 'lock the taskbar' The vertical bar should then appear
and you should be able to stretch the quick launch bar.
