i recently have had a problem when i was creating my movie. it dawned upon me that the default duration of the project is too small for my movie. how do i extend it. i also would like to know if i could play a clip backwards and thensave it on my timeline?? please help me!

There's no default duration for a project... if you mean for each still
picture moved from the collections to the timeline, there's a default
duration that you can adjust... it's the Picture duration setting in Tools >
Options > Advanced. The setting doesn't change what's already in your
projects, just what goes into it next.

MM2 doesn't have a built-in feature to reverse a clip.. see the Editing >
Video > Reverse Effect page of my site for some ideas about using other
software to make the clip and use it in MM2.

Unfortunately you will have to restart from scratch to adjust the times for
the still photos. But you can enter all of the photos to the timeline
easily.:

First set default duration time for each photo and transition in the
Tools->Options->Advanced.
Use Ctr-A to select all clips/photos in the collection
Use Ctrl-D to add all of them to the timeline/storyboard
Now select any number of slides in the storyboard
Go to Transitions and select one you want to apply to all selected slides,
right click and select add to storyboard

For reverse video effect you need to use external tools but it is dead easy.
See my webiste for tips about both of these issues:
