Extended Characters in Excel ???

Is there a way to incorporate extended characters (text) into the cells
of Excel??

Thanks for the reply!!
While waiting, I found the answer in John Walkenbach's book: "Excel 2000
Formulas" (page 117). He recommends using the Windows program
"CharMap.exe". I used it to copy the character to memory that I wanted from
a selected font, then used paste into the cell of Excel after selection of
that font from the standard toolbar. This may be a long way around the
barn, but it appears to work!!
Have you got a better way??

In excel 2002, you can Insert|Symbol. (I think that xl2002 added it.)

Before that, you could load Chip Pearson's symbolizer addin.
