Drew,

Extended ATX is similar to ATX except the motherboard is physically
larger (up to 12"x13" vs 12"x9.6" for plain ATX) usually to accommodate
onboard devices such as SCSI/RAID, extra RAM banks or multiple
processor sockets for server/workstation use.

Both form factors share the same width, backplane and basic mounting
points. The tricky part is matching the enclosure to the board as the
depth and power connectors can vary among manufacturers. (24-pin ATX
connectors plus ATX12V are common.)

I know for sure Tyan and SuperMicro make a few eATX motherboards. Asus
may as well.

I checked the cost . ALmost double or triple of what a normal board
would cost . I was surprise that their aren't more mfg. of extended atx
boards. I see where their is a new motherboard form factor coming out
this summer. BTX . I might want to see if mini-itx might be better for
flight sim. The miniitx are getting closer to atx performance. I'm
concern that the miniitx video would be as good as extended atx or
regular atx. The new btx might be my solution . Thanks.
