this may be a rookie ? but how can i convert my outlook
express to outlook? i have tried to locate a "how to"
file with no luck. do i export from express or import
from outlook? i need ALL my old folders from express.

You are better to import in Outlook.
You can then import account settings and rules as well as mail and
addressbook, which you can't do by exporting from OE.

Not entirely true. The part of what you say that is true is the importing
of the mail account settings. With Outlook and Outlook Express installed
and the latter working properly, import your mail account in Outlook via
"File">"Import and Export...">"Import Internet Mail Account Settings".
You'll be given "Microsoft Outlook Express" as a choice. Follow the
prompts. It might even be a good idea to import the OE address book that
way, although the import choices do not include OE V6. I believe OE V5 used
the Windows Addess Book in the same way that OE 6 does.

For the messages, however, it's best to export them from Outlook Express and
let it load them directly into Outlook. It will preserve the folders names,
message addressing, time stamps, and everything else important to the
messages.
