Exporting

can i know is there any compulsary fields to be exported out from outlook so that when i import the data back into outlook the old data in outlook can be replaced with the edited data exported out eariler. for now when i import in i am not able to replace the old data even if i choose the option of replacing the old data in the import process. Urgent help needed.
 
Can you please provide what you are exporting, editing and importing back?
Is it email, contacts or calendar?
Secondly, can you also provide which version of Outlook are you using?
