Hey all

I have a DUN connection in XP which has around 20 alternate numbers and 5
locations (each with 4 area code dialling rules). This is currently included
in an image which we load onto new machines as they are rolled out. However,
we sometimes need to setup this connection on non-imaged Windows XP & 2000
machines. I have tried copying the rasphone.pbk file, however have had
limited luck getting this to work, and as far as I am aware there is some
registry keys which hold the location and dialling rules information. Is
there a simple way to exporting these settings, and importing them on other
machines. If so, will Windows XP settings work on Windows 2000 machines
without any manipulation, or is there some other process that will work?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Regards

Cameron

Do you have access to Windows 2000 Server or Windows 2003 Server? If
so, try looking at the Connection Manager Administration Kit
(available in Add/Remove Windows Components). It will allow the
customization that you desire...

AFAIK, it will produce settings good for any modern Windows version.

Then again, maybe not. I was led to a link beneath that by searching on
CMAK, but it isn't clear whether CMAK is included in IEAK, and I haven't
downloaded the thing to find out!

I had it when I installed Win2K3 Server... It was pretty nice in the
fact that you can customize network parameters, add options to run a
logon script (for non-domain member computers),etc...

I saw this site
(http://www.techtutorials.com/tutorials/xp/adminpak.shtml) where they
talked about removing it from the adminpak.msi... I haven't tried it
though.
