Hi

I'm trying to export the from addresses from a bunch of emails in a
certain folder.

I find however that the email addresses extracted are something like /
O=ABCD and a lot of other stuff...

Is there any simple way to export the real email address instead into
a excel file or something similar?

Thanks a million

Luke

Luke,

This can be achieved by firstly going to the required folder, selecting:

1. View.
2. Arrange By..
3. Custom..
4. Select the required fields from their. You can actually select email
address or any other field.

Select OK twice, now click view.

That should do the trick.

FYI -These are the instructions to follow when using outlook 2003.

I hope this has helped.

Those ARE the real addresses in X.400 format. This is the format that
Exchange uses internally, I believe.

Thanks for the technical correction, however as you probably know what
I need is the normal email address of the form (e-mail address removed) to be
exported.

Is there a way to do this? Kev seems to have misunderstood my
question.

Thanks
Luke

You may not be able to. What kind of account are you using? Is it
Exchange? If so, then the Active Directory administrators must specify the
SMTP address for each of the people whose names appear in the GAL or all
you'll get is the X.400 address.
