Exporting table Date/Time field - How do you REMOVE time

In Access 2003 TIME is appended to the Date field during an export, even when
there is no time. "DD/MM/YYYY 00:00:00" Is there a way to get rid of TIME?
Help. Was not an issue in older versions. Table is created off another table
via MakeTable query.
 
Create a query that uses the Format function (as opposed to simply setting
the field's Format property) and export the query.
 
Doug, Thanks. This only makes the field a 'text' field and is then in
double-quotes upon exporting. Really wanted to use a 'date' field in the end
table. Used to work in Access 97 just fine. Any idea on how to correct the
IISAM(sp?) or setup a schema.ini? The export spec doesn't really help. Gotta
love enhancements.
