I'm having a problem moving my addresses into Vista Mail. At first I
thought it was a Windows Mail problem, but now I think it is an OE problem.
When I export my address book, about 2/3 of the entries do not get the first
and last name fields exported. Only the full name field. This makes it
impossible to sort these 2/3 by last name in Windows Mail (the other 1/3
works just fine). I can see no difference in the OE address book between
those that export and those that do not. They all definitely have first and
last name fields populated in OE. I looked at the csv export file and
confirmed that these fields are not in the Excel spreadsheet. I made sure
that I checked first and last names on the list of fields to export.
Curiously, and perhaps related, after I import to Windows Contacts, if I
open one of the bad entries and then close it, the first and last name
fields get populated. I'm not sure where this data is coming from, and
there doesn't seem to be a global way to fix this problem. Anyone have any
suggestions?
