Exporting/moving contacts

I have an Outlook contact list with 6 subcatagories. I
would like to be able to "give" (export, copy etc) three
of those catagories to my husband a new contact database
he is setting up. Can anyone help with how to do this? I
have tried exporting without success.

Use the "View by Category" view to group the Contacts.
Copy the contents of each category into a Contacts Folder in a new PST file.
Give that PST file to your husband so he can open it in Outlook.
 
Russ, thank you. We did that, but my husband, who has
Windows XP-Pro is unable to find where his Outlook data is
supposed to be so he can copy the file there. The path
that my Outlook uses on Windows 98ME is not the same and
even the book he has about Office (it is 3" thick and he
is a sophistocated user) doesn't help. Would appreciate
any ideas.

Don't do that! Do not copy it to Outlook's default data storage directory.
You may just end up overwriting (and corrupting) the PST he's already using.
Put it anywhere you want on the hard drive. Keep track of where you put it.
Then just open it in Outlook using the File > Open > Outlook Data File...
command.
