Hi - periodically I need to produce letters in Word that contain exce
generated numbers, (dollar amounts & percentages.) as well as th
recepients name & address and date information. Other than the afor
mentioned items, the content of the letter is unchanging, (with th
exception of Mr. or Ms).

Traditionally, I have looking at the excel generated figures and typin
them into the letters.

My goal is to automate this as much as possible, due to the larg
volume of letters that I routinely need to create. I am not ver
familiar with word and therefore how to go about this? Your advice o
how to approach automating this would be very much appreciated.

Advance thanks,

Michae

Use Mailmerge.

See the article “How to create a Mail Merge” at:

Have a look at the 'Mail Merge' functions of Word.
This will let you combine data from a database (or Excel) with a template
letter in Word.

One hint:
It will make your life MUCH easier if the Excel data is organised into
columns somthing like:

Name Address Amount
Jeff Somewhere 12.50
Bill Otherwhere 65.25
Jill Here 3.71

Check it out, and if you still have some questions, I'm sure someone in here
will be pleased to help.
