Is there anyway to get Outlook to include the date/time fields along with
the exported emails?

Thanks.

Is it just me, or does that seem odd to others?

I mean, what would the value be to exporting emails, with all of the other
fields, some more esoteric than others, conveniently provided, except for
date/time sent/recieved.

Is there any kind of workaround?

Well, let me explain what I am trying to do. Maybe there is a better
solution.

I am trying to integrate Outlook 2003 and Access 2003.
My Access database is my CRM. I would like to incorporate my correspondence
and store individual emails as separate Notes records that are associated
with my Individuals.

Up til now, I have been manually opening each email and copy/paste the text
from the email into a form on Access. Painful process and therefore I have
to bounce back and forth between Outlook and Access.

So, by exporting the emails into an Access database works beautifully.
Except for the Date Sent field which is inconspicuously absent.

Is there another approach?

Thanks

Sorry, this is beyond my expertise. Presumably, as the date/time field is
NOT offered as a default export field, there may be a chance of getting at
it programmatically - might be worth asking in the Outlook programming
group....

Thought I would post this for anyone's future reference

In Access, File>Get External Data>Import>File Type=Outlook()
This brings up the Exchange/Outlook Import Wizard
It browses your entire Outlook Folder structure
Pick a folder and it gets Imported into an Access table

You get everything as separate fields in each record for each email
Recieved (date/time)
From
To
Cc/Bcc
Subject
Body (memo field)
Message size
Whether it had attachments or not
and about 20 other cool fields.
