Exporting - Data Issue

When I run a macro set to export table or query infomration into Excel, it
places a ' character in front of each cells content. How can I avoid this.
It is impossible to run reports with the ' character in front of each cells
content.

Thanks in advance!

The ' character is used to tell EXCEL that the contents of that cell are
text, not numeric. It should not affect how EXCEL displays the actual data
nor uses it, as EXCEL should ignore the initial ' character for
calculations, etc.

What is it you want to achieve?

Thank you for responding to my inquiry. Unfortnately, the character is
creating the following problems:

-After exporting to excel, I cannot use the autosum feature. I tested it by
removing the ' character and it worked proving that it is affecting autosum.
-Secondly, I need to create reports from this export and they are not
working properly until I remove the character.

I have tried to do a find and replace for all of these characters but the
find function cannot see the character.

Any further help would be greatly appreciated,
Kevin

Post the details of the query that you're exporting. Include info about the
data types of the fields that are being selected by the query. Let's see if
we can do something on the ACCESS side to stop this.

Ken,

I am officially an idiot. You were correct in your first statement
regarding text vs. numbers.

Thanks again,
Kevin

I take it from this that it's working ok now?

I wouldn't call you what you called you... we all learn something all the
time!
