In Contacts, user has information stored in the IM address field. User is
exporting the contacts data to Excel. When the user opens the Excel
spreadsheet, all the other fields are there except the information stored in
the IM address field. Is this by design or was this field inadvertently left
out for some reason? We are using Outlook 2007 SP1 with Exchange 2003.

There are a number of fields that are not available via the Outlook export
wizard - IM Address being one

You may find the following of interest if the field is important to you:

Would just like to point out one caveat with this approach. Where this
involves a very large number of contacts - copy 'n pasting a large number of
rows at one time can result in an Outlook "out of memory" error being
encountered regardless of how well endowed the system is in terms of memory
and requiring Outlook to be closed and restarted. Solution of course being
to copy 'n paste in smaller chunks which can potentially make the process
tedious and time-consuming. For smaller folders - the approach works just
fine.
