Hello All,

My boss wants me to be able to have checkboxes that when exported to word,
not only show up, but are useable to the end user. Right now, the OLE
object doesn't even export to Word much less can you check the box. Does
anyone know how to do this?

Please advise.

Thank you,

Dee

Not sure your boss understands Word or Access, let alone the interaction
between the two. To click check boxes in Word and have the data in Access
updated is going to require some pretty advanced programming techniques.

You may be able to simulate check boxes (but not working ones) by placing
text boxes on your report in place of the check boxes. Set the Font for the
text box to WingDings, and in the Format property of the text boxes, enter
the WingDings characters for checked and unchecked, separated by a
semicolon. The Character Map applet will help you find the characters, and
you can copy them to the ControlSource of your text box.

Yeah I saw that method. You're right he doesn't understand the complexity
of it all. I knew we couldn't have people update something in Word and have
it updated in Access... that is definitely manual no doubt. I tried
creating a macro in Word that would insert the checkboxes for me at the push
of a button, but it doesn't quite work the way I want it to either. I was
hoping to use a macro as a work around.

Thanks,

Dee
