Exporting Address book to Outlook

I installed my Address book from an old Dell laptop and it went in great.
However, when I tried exporting it to Microsoft Outlook it would not export.
The messages and folders exported but not the address book. The new system
is a Compaq Presario 2175 Laptop with Win XP Pro. Anyone know what I can do
to get the address book moved to Outlook on this machine?

Try posting in an Outlook group or something. Your question is about
Outlook on a Windows XP machine. Neither of those things pertains to
Windows 2000, the focus of this group.
