Hi;
I have a report that has a sub report to display the comments for a given
record on the main report. If I choose to export it to Word (rtf), the
resulted word document has some cut off words from the sub report.

Does any one have an idea why this is happening? Any help is greatly
appreciated.

Thanks
Riyad

The "Export to RTF" feature is not reliable. Particularly if you have controls
with CanGrow enabled with large blocks of text. I would suggest using Snapshot
Format or a PDF writer instead.

Are you actually losing the words or are they either line wrapping or
falling off to another page? I have exported many complex reports (with
subreports) to Word and have never had a data loss. I may have to tinker
with margins and page breaks in Word, but the data is always there.

Text truncation when exporting to RTF is _very_ common. The behavior roughly
resembles soft line-wrapping.

The space character in Word is slightly wider than the space character in an
Access report using the same font. Therefore controls with multiple words in
them will require more horizontal space for the same phrase when exported to
Word. If that extra space requirement reaches a point where even a single
character will no longer fit into the total horizontal space as defined by the
width of the original Access Control then that whole word will be truncated from
the output.

When outputting multi-line text in TextBoxes that have CanGrow enabled the same
behavior can cause entire lines of text to be truncated. In this situation the
Access report seems to define how many lines of text the control contains. If
the final result in Word requires more lines than that defined in the Access
report then any lines beyond that will be truncated.
