I used Outlook's "Import and Export" option to export all my emails to a pst file before reinstalling windows. But after xp was reinstalled and I tried to import the emails, I found that I can only restore emails in the "Inbox" up to some months ago. That is, I lost emails from about September 2003 up to yesterday! However, all emails in "Sent Items" can be imported successfully including those sent some days ago. I did this backup and restore several times before without encountering such problem. Could someone shield some light on this so that I can recover my lost emails
Thanks in advance

Daniel

I don't know exactly what happened, but generally, it's a bad idea to use
export as if it were a backup. Instead, just make a copy of your entire
default PST file.
