Hi

We currently have an export procedure for one of our clients which, dumps an
order confirmation into excel in csv format.

The client has come back and asked us if we can add pictures to this excel
export.

Is it possible to create this type of export from Access 2000 to excel?

Thanks for any help

Gillian

Hi Gillian,

Can't add pictures to a *.csv file. You could perhaps add a row that
contained a fully qualified URL so the client could click to see the picture
hosted somewhere.

Not knowing the details, or whether this client's whim is your command for
whatever reason ... we could end it there.

Or, you could create an Excel template of sorts - with an embedded picture,
essentially build an example configuration as an Excel sheet. When it
matches the requirements and the client signs off on it, then write the code
to change the variable data as your export procedure and save the file to a
new name as appropriate. It's easier to change the graphic being referenced
when you have a template, a frame already built, than it is to set up all
the parameters on the fly. Clear the data area, punch the new rows in place,
swap out the graphic, save the file as mydate_ordernumber.xls or whatever.

Hope this helps,
Gordon
