I have Win 98 with Office XP (Outlook 2002)
I tried to copy all of all of my outlook Directories with the Export function to a .pst file on my hard drive. After 60-70% of the process is complete, the process hangs. I can't get any response so I End Task Outlook. I then changed my options so that the system does not try to Send/Receive (thinking that Outlook hangs when trying to Send/Receive and backup at the same time)
I then Exported again
......same results

Any suggestions? Thanks

Possible 3rd party influence, try in Safe Mode of the OS. If that still
fails, you might do good to copy your original PST, and try a SCANPST.EXE on
it from the Desktop (run it several times) then open it in Outlook and see
if it'll Compact THEN export. Note, exporting/importing will break Journal
links, using the PFBackup.exe available for download copies the PST for you
on a interval you set, and may maintain the journalling links.
