It would be helpful if users of Outlook and Meeting Maker could import/export
items with ease.

Then ask Meeting Maker to talk to Microsoft.

You can export a meeting from Meeting Maker as an iCalendar format to a text
..ics file. Unfortunately, Meeting Maker often seems to insert non-ASCII
characters in the exported file. As a work-around, I find that I almost
always have to open the .ics file with Notepad and delete the "ORGANIZER:"
line as this seems to be the offending entry with our Meeting Maker
installation. After that line is deleted, I save the file then I can
double-click it and it will open properly in Outlook.

This is definitely a Meeting Maker problem. They should not be saving .ics
files with the bad characters.
