Hi, I am trying to export a contact folder as a .pst
file from one computer and import into Outlook on another
computer. When I am going through the import process i
get an error that reads: "The file c://documents and
settings....is not compatible with this version of
Personal Folder's information services. Contact your
administrator."

I have imported and exported files from the various
computers many times and have never run into this error
message before. Could it have something to do with the
fact that we just installed some ShareOutlook software?
Is there a way to resolve this situation? Thanks for
your help.

Sincerely,
Petra

Importing and exporting is not the correct way to transfer PST files.
Post the Outlook versions involved.

I am using Outlook 2002 and Outlook 2003. We do not have
a Microsoft Exchange Server to share files but are
currently setting up ShareOutlook.

PST is Outlook's native data file format. You can open any PST file in
Outlook with the File > Open > Outlook Data File command. No need to import
or export anything. The only incompatibility is that you can't open a data
file created in Outlook 2003 in Outlook 2002 until you convert it to the
older "Outlook 97-2000" format.
I assume ShareOutlook is a third party program. You would need to ask the
vendor about it.
