I have Win 98 with Office XP (Outlook 2002)
I tried to copy all of all of my outlook Directories with the Export function to a .pst file on my hard drive. After 60-70% of the process is complete, the process hangs. I can't get any response so I End Task Outlook. I then changed my options so that the system does not try to Send/Receive (thinking that Outlook hangs when trying to Send/Receive and backup at the same time)
I then Exported again
......same results

Any suggestions? Thanks

One thing that you can try is to remove and reinstall the Import/Export
engine in Outlook. Go into Control Panel -> Add/Remove Programs and select
to Change/Modify Outlook (or Office if all of Office is installed). Then
select to add/remove a component. You should be able to find the
Import/Export engine listed and make it Not Available. Then restart and
come back in and select it to Run from My Computer.

If this does not work or you simply want a work around then you can just
copy the .pst file which will give you a backup copy of all your Outlook
folders (e-mail, contacts, and calender information).

I hope this information is helpful.

Thanks, Robert. I will try it tonight. On the second option, if I copy the .pst file under Local Settings, /... / Outlook, I could use this file to restore from? Thanks for your help
