Export from Outlook Express

I was in the process of moving from an old machine to a
new machine. I exported the address book and imported it
just fine, but can't export the messages. I've spent
hours searching the KB and can't find a solution. I
originally started with a error indicating an
initialization error with MAPI and a KB article said to
install Windows Messaging. I've installed EM and I no
longer get the error, but it also doesn't export a thing.
It just stops. I upgraded from Outlook Express 5.5 to OE
6 and all messages are still in their appropriate folders.

The only other solution I found was a suggested work-
around which was to manually drop the messages from each
folder into folders on the desktop, then move those
folders to the new machine. This "solution" is
unacceptable as files in any folder have to have unique
names and this method uses the subject of the email as the
filename. I'm a University Professor and I send out lots
of messages for course grades with the same Subject, which
means using the work-around, I'd lose dozens of messages.
The work-around is therefore unacceptable. I need
another solution or a fix to why OE isn't exporting
properly.

This is a group to support Outlook from the Office group of programs.
Outlook Express is a part of Internet Explorer and is a quite different
program, despite its similar name..

You will probably get a faster and more expert answer if you post this to an
Outlook Express news group.

Try posting in one of these newsgroups:
microsoft.public.windows.inetexplorer.ie5.outlookexpress for OE 5.x
microsoft.public.windows.inetexplorer.ie55.outlookexpress for OE 5.5x
microsoft.public.windows.inetexplorer.ie6_outlookexpress for OE 6.x
microsoft.public.internet.outlookexpress.mac for OE for Macintosh

If those groups aren't carried on the news server that's carrying this group
try using msnews.microsoft.com (MS's public news server that's the source
for all the microsoft.public newsgroups).

A good website for information on OE is:
