I'm running Outlook 2003. I want to export a distribution list to Excel. The
list was among other contacts, so I moved it to its own "Job Listings"
folder, a subfolder of Contacts and of the contacts folder type.
I tried the Import/Export wizard, and it creates an excel file, but it turns
out it doesn't process any entries from a distribution list - only contacts.
I also tried a CSV file with the same result.
I opened the distribution list and selected File->Save As, saved as a text
file, but it gave me an error: "Out of memory or system resources. Close
some windows or programs and try again." I've got plenty of RAM, so I assume
Outlook just can't handle exporting such a large distribution list. The list
has like 3,000 or some odd members.
I also have a Personal Address Book version of it if that helps, which is
what it originally was. I had imported it into my Contacts folder thinking
that I would more easily be able to export it to Excel from there, because I
was having no luck exporting from the Personal Address book. But the
Personal Address Book has many contacts besides the distribution list I
need, so any export needs to be able to specify only that distribution list
inside it.
I'm getting the impression that I'm not going to be able to accomplish this
with Outlook. Is there a conversion utility out there?
