Hi Everyone,
Quick question here. We are running a custom designed
software program (browser based) that utilizes an
Access2000 DB. I also have another program (used solely
for reporting)that has linked tables, to the first
program. When we were running reports, ofetn times we were
receiving errors in the browser based program saying
it 'could not access table XYZ exclusively'. So, this is
what I would like to do...The reporting does not need to
be in real time, meaning we're using this tool to see
yesterday's sales for example. Can I take a copy, of the
original DB everytime I open the reporting program? If so,
what would be the best way to do this? I have tried
writing a macro, that copies the tables, every time the
reporting program was opened, but was having difficulties
specifying in the macro, where the original DB was and
where the copy was, in addition to 'hating' the fact that
I had to copy each table individually....anyone have any
great ideas re: copying entire Db? Also I should say that
this is a 24X7 business, meaning there really is no 'slow'
time. & am could be just as busy as 7 pm...how great is
that?
Any help would be much appreciated.
Thanks everyone,
