I'm having a problem where explorer.exe seems to hang. Applications
(generally ) continue to run, but the icons in the taskbar, for
instance, are no longer responsive and the clock in the toolbar has
stopped. I have to pull up task manager, kill explorer.exe, and then
restart explorer.exe to get it working again. I've checked for
viruses with the latest Symantic virus definitions; I've tried to
check for the blaster worm, but the symantic tool for checking to see
if the worm is present (fixblast.exe) crashes when it gets to a file
called windows\system32\e_ddd0re.wat -- a file to which I can find no
reference whatsoever from any source at Microsoft or on the Net. This
has made my system very unstable since last Thursday. Any ideas?
I'm running XP with SP1 and all the latest patches from Microsoft (as
far as I know)
TIA,
Mark
