Explorer won't start after changing computer name

Running windows xp pro. After changing the computer
name, the explorer.exe process doesn't start up when a
particular user logs on (no desktop icons, no taskbar,
can't start explorer manually). When I change the
computer name back, everything is normal. I need to
change the computer name because I added a router that
has to have the name assigned by internet provider.

What are the old and new computer names? What is that particular
user's user name?
